Is the camera safe from theft?
The moment someone touches or moves the camera, you get a tamper alert straight to your phone. You'll also have footage of the person approaching across all three lenses. Mount it high enough (2.5m+) and it's out of easy reach. The camera itself has no resale value without your account, and your footage is saved to the SD card and cloud so even if the worst happens, you still have the evidence.
How much data does it use?
It depends on how often the camera is triggered and how long you watch the live feed. Most users report between 1GB–2GB per month with normal use. The camera only records and sends data when motion is detected it's not streaming 24/7. A standard prepaid data SIM from Vodacom, MTN, Telkom, or Cell C works fine.
Does it work without Wi-Fi?
The camera runs on a 4G SIM, just pop in a SIM from any South African network and it's connected. That means you can mount it anywhere on your property with cell signal, no cables, no router, no fixed internet.
Can I install it myself?
Yes. Everything you need is in the box mounting bracket, screws, solar panel, and a user manual. Mount it, insert your SIM, download the free V380 Pro app, and follow the setup steps. No electrician, no complicated wiring. Most people are up and running in under 15 minutes.
How long does it last during rainy days?
The solar panel keeps the built-in battery charged during the day, and with normal usage the camera runs for 2 to 3 days on battery alone with no sun at all. Very frequent triggering or long live-viewing sessions will drain it faster, but even through a stretch of overcast or rainy weather it keeps recording and sending alerts without interruption.
How does it perform at night?
Loovi gives you full-colour night vision up to 30m when there's ambient light in the environment. In complete darkness, infrared kicks in automatically so you never lose sight of what's happening. The built-in floodlight also activates on motion, so intruders get lit up and recorded in full colour.
